A young boy (looking very much like a young Sluyterman!) sits with a guitar on his lap, gazing across the German landscape.

The composition of this painting is so very typical of  Sluytemans work.

The side view portrait, normally associated with his lino prints.
The rustic garden
Rural working class subjects.

His paintings are becoming very popular, and more and more are turning up at auctions, especially in towns like Essen where he lived.
